THE FINEST IRISH LINEN
Although linen clothing is now widely available on the high street, much like cashmere, the potential for disparity in its quality should never be underestimated. That’s why we’ve worked with Baird McNutt, an Irish mill who bring over a century of experience and environmentally friendly methods, on some of our pieces. Their vast knowledge of the fabric helped us create our softest linen ever, using a special sea-soft finish.
CARING FOR LINEN
Linen can be machine washed, then ironed while still damp for best results, but we think it’s equally beautiful after a holiday – splashed with sea salt and memories.
“Linen is an incredibly easy fabric to care for. It keeps its colour and, the more you wash it, the softer it becomes, making the fabric even more beautiful and easy to iron. I like to tumble dry my linen to make it even softer to the touch. If your linen is creased, ironing when it’s still damp will easily eradicate wrinkles.”
Brigitte Atkinson, Head of Fabric
Keep your linen looking its best, season after season, by carefully storing it away at the end of the Summer. Stow your linen garments as you would your bed linen – a cool airing cupboard is ideal, or anywhere with wooden slatted shelves. Try to avoid folding too sharply, or stacking too many things on top of linen pieces if you want to avoid lines and wrinkles. We love adding a spritz of refreshing home spray to ours, too.
