With new season clothes starting to pop up online, we’ve picked four items that you really can wear now and later when the temperature drops.
Hands up if you’re struggling to get dressed in the morning at the moment? Join the club. You can always trust the British Summer to throw your wardrobe into turmoil, with blazing sunshine one minute and torrential downpours the next.
Although it may feel like Summer has only just got going (or judging by the weather, that it’s not even started), we must admit that we’re feeling rather grateful to see a few Autumn pieces starting to pop up online. Now is the time when the savviest of shoppers start picking up a few key pieces that will not only take them through to next season, but that they can start wearing now to bridge the trans-seasonal gap and make morning dressing that little bit easier, whatever the weather throws at us.
So, here are four lovely semi-Summery things to wear now and later when the temperature drops a few degrees.
Pop on over a cami and shorts for days when the sun is out, but it’s not warm enough for bare arms, or throw on in the evening as a lightweight layer, instead of a coat. In cooler temperatures, we’ll be pairing it with our Brompton Jeans and layering over the top of a cosy roll-neck jumper.
A shirt dress, like our elegant version in navy and white dots, is great for holidays, staycations, weekend lunches with friends, and even the office. Wear with wedges or sandals now; tights, boots and long cardigans at the end of September.
A skinny scarf is one of those essentials that transcends seasons. We’ve been wearing them with T-shirts, blouses and dresses all Summer-long at The White Company HQ, and with pom-poms set to continue being a big trend into Autumn, we’ll no doubt still be wearing this knitted scarf with a cashmere jumper come October.
This short-sleeved double V-neck blouse is perfect for now: wear with our skinny Symons Jeans at the weekend, a skirt for work and layer a long-sleeved cotton top underneath come September. You could even layer a sleeveless gilet over it and a roll neck underneath it when it gets really cold.
These are just a few of our trans-seasonal favorites. Take a look at all of the other brand new clothing that has just landed.
