Make the most of spending more time at home by decluttering and sorting those neglected corners – from the linen cupboard to your wardrobe and pantry – perfect for helping you clear the mind a little, too.
The linen cupboard
Over the years, it’s easy to accumulate excess bedding. Start by taking out everything you own and sorting into sets. Discard any without matching pillows, or top sheets, and then re-wash everything – preferably in separate loads. Make storage simple by folding sheets and placing a complete set inside a pillowcase. Then, put it in a cotton storage bag for extra protection.

As a general rule, when streamlining your wardrobe, you should start with anything you haven’t worn in the last year. Try it on and, if it doesn’t suit, or you no longer love it, then it’s time to take it to a charity shop and find it a second home. You can make a special exception for anything of sentimental value, though. Once your clothes are sorted, hang them on matching slim hangers and then start on accessories. Rustic woven baskets are perfect for separating shoes, bags and belts.
The obvious place to start is simply to throw out anything past its use-by date. The next step is to start batch cooking staple dishes that can be frozen, in order to save time later. Try a delicious lasagne, dhal, or stew, which can be reheated when needed. Our bamboo-lidded glass food-storage boxes look gorgeous, plus they are safe for use in the fridge.
