With Spring on the horizon, we are celebrating the arrival of our two limited-edition fragrances, hand-crafted in the perfume capital of the world: Grasse, France. With the arrival of Rose and Iris – and our range of products available in each scent – there’s no excuse to feel the Winter blues for long. Throw open your windows, lace your living space with vases of fresh flowers and let these two original scents gently lull you into a Spring state of mind.
Traditional artisan techniques
To begin with, rose blossoms are delicately hand-picked from fields at sunrise, when the flower’s oil yield is at its most abundant. The finest rose petals are immediately selected and gently distilled while fresh in order to extract the highest-quality rose absolute. It takes approximately 3,000 rose petals to obtain a single drop of precious rose absolute oil.
Meanwhile, the iris seeds are planted and nurtured in sun-drenched fields for three years before being harvested to ensure the fullest, most mature essence can be captured. The iris is skilfully cleaned and dried for six months prior to being steam distilled to extract the rich iris butter.
Expert French perfumers, passionately inspired by the scented fields of Grasse, spend three weeks blending drops of exquisite rose absolute and iris butter with a collection of natural, garden notes. Created with the utmost love and care, the result is two bespoke scents with exquisite depth and cocooning atmospheres.
Our product range
Our Rose and Iris scents are available as candles for a burst of atmospheric aroma, perfect to wile away an evening unwinding in your favourite room. Both fragrances also come as diffusers to softly scent your home throughout the day for a more subtle, background effect. Additionally, our collections come in a combined Grasse Soap Set, one soap in each fragrance, for you to put in your bathroom, kitchen, or utility room.
As part of this exciting Spring collection, we have worked with independent artist Lucy Augé, who is based in Bath. Combining traditional craft techniques with distinctly sophisticated methods, Lucy creates truly unique ink illustrations, and draws on simplistic Japanese art traditions. Her passion for celebrating the natural beauty of flora and fauna shines through in her distinctive style. She has adorned our beautiful Rose and Iris packaging with her stunning drawings of the flowers, perfect as a keepsake to store trinkets and precious things in afterwards.
As well as the stunning packaging designs, Lucy has been commissioned to create an exclusive in-store exhibit at our Symons Street and Marylebone High Street stores in London. Just 20 of her individual illustrations will be exhibited in The White Company frames and available for customers to purchase – simply ask a member of staff in store for more details on how to own your very own limited-edition artwork.
