We don’t believe in depriving ourselves of everything joyful in January. If you try this list of feel-good resolutions, you’ll start – and finish – the year feeling happier, healthier and more balanced.
We believe in precious moments of uncomplicated happiness and know how important it is to find some quiet ‘me time’ each day – even if just for half an hour. Our favourite ways to unwind include soaking in a hot bubble bath, lighting one of our mood-balancing scented candles, booking a massage, reading a book, or listening to a soothing soundtrack. Try any of these guilt-free self-indulgences and they’ll soon become welcome rituals.
Some luxuries are designed for you to enjoy every day, including our Symons Bed Linen – made from exquisite 1,000-thread-count Egyptian cotton – and supremely soft cashmere clothing, plus our spa-inspired bath and body products, which are made with the purest essential oils.
Rather than cutting out a long list of foods, substitute one for a healthier option you haven’t tried before. Try introducing grains, such as quinoa, freekeh, or tabbouleh into comforting curries or add a dollop of cashew nut butter into your morning porridge in place of sugar. We think this is a much more fun and sustainable way to adapt your healthy-eating habits.
Most people don’t consider going to bed when planning their week. Try putting a reminder in your calendar, so that it becomes a priority in your daily routine; the same way that important meeting at work, or exercise class, can’t be missed or postponed. You’ll be surprised at how much more sleep time you can gain each week, which in turn will make you feel more energised.
With January’s notoriously quiet social calendar, there’s plenty of time to spend learning something new. If you’ve always wanted to hone your cooking skills, try making foods you would normally buy, such as hummus, pesto or gnocchi, with our practical kitchen utensils. Other things you could try include joining a book club, practising yoga at home, signing up to an art course, or learning a new language.
