It’s now officially the time to transform your home into a cosy Christmas hideaway. Need inspiration? Follow our favourite tips for every little space.
1. Deck the halls
Simply decorating your hallway can make your home feel so much more magical. We love styling our extra-special Beaded Wreaths and matching garlands along the banister; they’re embellished with battery-operated fairy lights so this really does create a sparkling entrance. Want to go a step further? Hang our beautiful glass baubles from the window using clear hanging wire, so it looks like they’re falling snowflakes.
2. Spruce up your table tops
Whether it’s your side table, coffee table or dining table, weaving our frosted Rosemary & Pinecone Garland and a sprinkling of sparkling candle holders, little house-shaped decorations and flickering flames down it will add instant charm. For an extra-festive feel, dot our limited-edition Winter Candles into your display and enjoy their warm scent of cinnamon, clove and fresh orange.
3. Into the bedroom
Make your guest or master bedroom feel like a cosy Scandinavian sanctuary by draping layers of faux-fur blankets and cushions on the bed, adding fluffy sheepskin rugs and decorating corners with leafy garlands and miniature Christmas trees. Go the extra mile and leave a little gift, such as our cashmere socks or faux-fur hot water bottle, on the end of everyone’s bed come Christmas Eve, too.
4. Warm the kitchen
Many of our favourite Yuletide rituals are enjoyed in the kitchen: building gingerbread houses, baking the Christmas cake, mulling wine and roasting the turkey – so don’t neglect your kitchen as you decorate the rest of the house. To do this quickly, fill a vase with a collection of walnuts, fir branches and battery-operated fairy lights, style a miniature Christmas tree on the work surface and stack beautiful baubles in little bowls along your shelves.
5. Beneath the Christmas tree
Of course, filling your living room with the biggest Christmas tree you can is a given but, for an especially magical touch, start placing your Christmas presents beneath the tree as soon as they are wrapped. Whether you have little ones or not, it will help to build even more excitement for 25th December’s arrival and looks just like something out of a fairytale.
