With the new season rapidly approaching, we’re looking forward to weekends spent outdoors with family, wrapped up in cosy knitwear and enjoying the golden light of Autumn.
To celebrate fresh-air adventures, The Little White Company design team was inspired by the joy of childhood memories spent down on the farm. Take a look at our characterful collection and explore our guide to UK farms little ones will adore visiting.
Sewing the seeds
Starting with hand-stitched designs created on vintage fabrics, The Little White Company team designed farmyard characters that look rustic and playful.
As attention-to-detail is at the heart of all our collections, we gave every piece interesting, rustic textures, including appliqué animals and individual French knots for the seeds and grass.
Our Down on the Farm bed-linen collection is designed to showcase all the farmyard creatures, even when the top of the duvet is folded over. Because of its checked edging, it’s a great choice to mix and match with our other children’s bedding – try the glow-in-the-dark, gingham and Angelina Embroidered ranges.
Where to meet farmyard friends and plant seeds of interest in the world around them:
Country: Stockley Farm Park, Cheshire
It’s no secret that getting little ones to sleep, especially when evenings are still light, can be tricky. Help them along with our beautiful counting sheep pieces – from nightwear to bed linen and beyond.
The detailed French-knot sheep fleeces, carefully sewn onto pillow cases by expert artisans, are like a little fluffy friend to share their pillow with. Our new gorgeously soft Fuddlewuddle Lamb toy is the perfect playmate while – for the littlest ones – our Little Lamb Comforter is all they need to nod off.
Across clothing, our beautifully soft bouclé jacket (complete with little lamb ears), hoodie, romper and even booties are decorated with the fluffiest critters on the farm for cosy dressing.
Where to count real sheep (and pigs, horses, cows and goats):
Country: Good Day Out, Brecon Beacons
All farmers need a helpful dog and ours is the friendliest and liveliest of all. The Little White Company designers were inspired by hide and seek for their pattern – it’s up to little ones to spot where the dog and chickens are hiding around the tractor.
Since its recent release, this design has been flying out of our stores and onto little beds, even overtaking our ever-popular London collection. In our easy-care fabric, this style requires no ironing at all.
To complete the look, little dog-lovers can add characterful jumpers, pyjamas, sleepsuits and T-shirts – not to mention their very own soft toy dog. Tractors also adorn our clothing collection this season, so active adventurers can feel like a real farmer in no time – and all in 100% cotton and wool.
Where to catch a real tractor ride:
City: Belmont Farm, London
Country: Odds Farm Park, Buckinghamshire
