Of course, the tennis is something to look forward to but, this month, there’s another reason to visit Wimbledon.
On June 16th, The White Company is opening a concession in Elys – one of the oldest department stores in the city – giving you the perfect excuse for a trip to South West London. Here’s our round-up of the best places to drop into after a spot of shopping with us.
Quench your thirst: at The Alexandra pub. We love sunning ourselves in their lovely rooftop garden – a great little spot for a drink in the sun. We recommend a fruity spritzer for a refreshing pick-me-up. If you take a wander to Wimbledon Village, Hemingways is the perfect pit stop for a cocktail and a few light snacks.
Have a bite to eat: Wimbledon has a huge array of choices, including almost every type of world cuisine you could wish to sample. The latest Ivy Restaurant has recently opened in Wimbledon Village, and is well worth a trip. Other picks include the glass-fronted Light House and the Fox and Grapes on Wimbledon Common.
While away an hour: at the tennis courts or take a stroll on Wimbledon Common. Boasting plenty of open, green space, it’s the perfect place to collect your thoughts, and reflect on that The White Company purchase you know you need to go back for…
Pick up some fresh flowers (and fruit): at Bayley & Sage, a wonderful little organic grocer’s whose mouth-watering outdoor displays of fruit, vegetables and flowers have been brightening up the high street of Wimbledon Village for almost 20 years.
Shop, shop and shop some more: once you’re done perusing the selection in Ely’s, Wimbledon Village is full of gorgeous boutiques and upmarket designer stores to lose yourself in. And, if you’re still in the mood for more shopping, you can always check out our latest arrivals online here.
Here are our top (shoppable) picks to keep your eye out for in store:
