Christmas may be a hectic time in the calendar, but it’s also a great opportunity to enjoy some much-needed me time once the festivities are over. Here’s how…
1. Pick your pyjamas
First things first: don your finest, fleeciest pyjamas. No ‘real’ clothes (not even loungewear) are allowed on a PJ day, so revel in the fact you can spend dawn ’til dusk safely cocooned in your favourite pair. Our picks? These Brushed Heart Flannel Pyjama Bottoms & Top, or Pointelle Cuffed Pyjama Bottoms & Top (did we mention they’re on sale?).
2. Heels off, slippers on
A Christmas-pyjama day is the perfect opportunity to switch out the partywear, heels and jewellery you’ve been wearing for all those festive social events for something truly comfortable. If you really want to go all out, we highly suggest wearing a pair of Cashmere Bed Socks inside a pair of furry slipper boots (and you could even put on a moisturising foot mask, too, since you definitely won’t be leaving the house). Bliss.
3. Add throws, cushions and the snuggliest duvet
A great PJ-day outfit is only as good as the blanket fort you spend it in. Make your bed even more inviting than usual by stacking cushions, layering throws and ensuring you’ve got the downiest, plumpest duvet of them all – our Hungarian Goose Down option is a bestseller for a reason. Then surround yourself with snacks, a carafe of water and a cafetierre of coffee so you don’t need to leave for hours.
4. Banish the to-do list
It can be so hard not to feel guilty spending an entire day doing nothing, but completely disconnecting and putting those mental to-do lists to one side once in a while is so important. Fire up Netflix, stack up some of your favourite magazines and the books you’ve been meaning to start, then just sit back and relax.
5. Practice some self care
Whether you relax and unwind with a long bath (before changing into a new pair of pyjamas for your real bedtime), or treat yourself to face masks, a full skincare routine and maybe even a bit of meditation, take full advantage of this 12 hours of dedicated you time.
