Want your presents to really stand out? It’s the little finishing touches that make the biggest difference. To ensure your gifts are as memorable as The Three Kings’ this year, follow our tips for personalisation.
All it takes is a few festive gift tags, a nice pen (we love using a gold or silver calligraphy one) and some imagination to lift your gifts from a presentable 9 to a fabulous 10.
Tip 1: When wrapping up kitchen pieces, serveware or glasses, tuck a tag inside with your favourite cake or cocktail recipe written on it. Not only will they adore the personal sentiment a handwritten note brings, but they might even invite you round to make it for you.
Tip 2: You can extend this trick to other gifts, too; nothing shows you care quite like sweet, handwritten notes left in the pockets of pyjamas or robes… especially when they’re suggesting your loved ones “run a bath” or “make a hot chocolate”.
Tip 3: Perhaps there’s a certain fragrance that reminds you of your friend? Maybe there’s a particular fabric (such as cashmere or silk) they love? Whatever you’ve treated them to, attach a note, reminding them of a happy memory and they’re sure to feel incredibly touched.
Going the extra mile
Instead of presenting loved ones with the perfect present just as you bought it, consider ways to add to the gift, pairing it with something else that will elevate it even further.
Tip 1: Our beautiful frames, pretty trinket boxes and glittering candle holders will bring instant joy. But if you add favourite photographs, silver jewellery or Winter-scented tealights to the gifts, your friends can use them straight away.
Tip 2: When gifting kitchen goodies, instead of offering empty vessels, why not fill baskets and bowls with tasty homemade treats you’ve lovingly baked for them? Alternatively, fill our storage pieces with the exact ingredients they’ll need to make something delicious themselves.
Tip 3: Stunning vases make gorgeous gifts – but, rather than giving an empty vase, visit your local florist and present loved ones with a seasonal bouquet so they can fill it straight away and present their blooms in pride of place.
