October has been a busy month at The White Company HQ for our founder, Chrissie (pictured left, with The White Company CEO, Mary Homer). We may have unveiled our much-anticipated Christmas collection, however, the real highlight was Chrissie hosting an event with The Prince’s Trust to mark the launch of an exciting new initiative: Women Supporting Women.
Formed of leading female founders, entrepreneurs, business women, professionals and philanthropists, the newly founded group – with Chrissie as Founding Patron – aims to help young women across the UK develop the confidence and skills they need to live, learn and earn. The initiative is aiming to change the lives of 6,500 young women by raising £10 million pounds over the next five years.
Other patrons and ambassadors include our CEO Mary Homer; Melissa Hemsley, co-founder of Hemsley + Hemsley, June Sarpong MBE, broadcaster and author, and Kim Buckland MBE, co-founder of Liz Earle.
Guests at the event heard from a number of young women who have been supported by The Prince’s Trust, including Grace Graham, who founded her own workplace massage and wellbeing company, WorkSpa, after completing the programme.
As Chrissie conveyed at the launch event: “I believe all young women deserve the chance to find their passion and succeed. We hope to build the most incredible group of women in industry and philanthropy and, together, we want to make a very significant difference to our young women who need a helping hand.”
