It’s been a busy June at The White Company HQ and for our founder – from launching the Brand Of The Future award with Everywoman to developing new swimwear.
It’s been a busy time at The White Company HQ and for our founder
1) Attending our annual retail awards dinner
“Our annual retail event is always a fantastic evening. It’s wonderful to be able to take a moment to celebrate our achievements with the amazing retail team. Huge congratulations to the team at Bicester for winning Store Of The Year and Ana Mendonca from our Marylebone High Street store, who won Star Of The Year. When I started The White Company, one of the most important things to me was to create a brand that offered exceptional customer service. Today, over 21 years later, we still work hard to ensure that visiting one of our stores is a wonderful experience.”

2) Launching the NatWest everywoman Brand Of The Future award
“At The White Company, we always put the brand at the heart of everything we do, so I’m incredibly proud to be partnering with NatWest and everywoman again to launch the award for The Brand Of The Future 2016. With this award, we hope to help and encourage the next generation of exciting new businesswomen. The award prize includes a mentoring programme with The White Company, offering access to our head-office team and their expertise.
I love meeting women who have started their own business, and looking forward to judging this award.
You can find details of how to enter below (the Brand Of The Future will be chosen from a shortlist of the other everywoman awards), and please do forward to anyone you know with an exciting new business who might like to enter. https://www.everywoman.com/award/2016-natwest-everywoman-awards#benefits

3) Developing next year’s swimwear collection
“Our capsule swimwear collection this year has been so well received – the white bikini with the adjustable ties was my particular favourite. We’ve now started working on next year’s pieces, which is very exciting, as we’re planning a bigger range with more choice and the ability to mix and match tops and bottoms for different looks, shapes and sizes. In fact, today, the team and I were trying on samples to really get a feel for fit and style. In the meantime, you can shop our current holiday collection here.”
4) Topping up my Summer wardrobe
“The Summer holidays are fast approaching, which has given me the perfect excuse to buy some warm-weather accessories. This wonderfully roomy tote is set to become my go-to Summer bag. Great for a city or beach break. Another great addition to my bag collection is this lovely double-strap evening bag. You can’t go wrong with a classic black bag, and it’s great that you can remove the strap to use as a clutch – which is exactly what I did for the 40th anniversary Prince’s Trust garden party (see below). I also love the neutrality of these new classic sunglasses in taupe, which look great on both blondes and brunettes. And, finally, these are my absolute favourite new Summer shoes. The colour goes with everything in my wardrobe and the wrap-around-tie is a lovely detail.”
5) Celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Prince’s Trust
“I was lucky enough to have been invited to a garden party at Buckingham Palace celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Prince’s Trust. The Prince’s Trust does such outstanding work changing young lives across the UK – and The White Company is proud that it is one of our charity partners as part of the White Heart Foundation. You can find out more about our Foundation, and how you can get involved here.”

6) Making my own elderflower cordial
“It’s elderflower season at the moment, and I simply love this refreshing drink. It’s so easy to make in batches ready for when you fancy it. You could even serve it in our Drinks Dispenser at a Summer party.”
2.5 pints of water
Juice and peel of 2 unwaxed lemons
2oz citric acid (available online or from a chemist)
25 heads of elderflower (white or pink)
1. Pick the elderflowers when they are just out, not brown or in bud.
2. Gently rinse them before use to get rid of any dirt or bugs.
3. Dissolve the sugar in boiling water. Add the lemon peel (strips of peel), lemon juice and citric acid when cool.
4. Pour the liquid onto the flower heads in a large bowl and cover with a food net/muslin and leave for tow days, stirring occasionally. After two days sieve the liquid through a muslin and sieve and bottle.
