Our founder shares a few of the things filling up her diary.
1. Celebrating a family birthday
“My daughter, Indie, recently celebrated her 18th birthday with an Angels & Demons-themed party. I loved dressing the table to bring the theme alive. I wanted it to feel angelic and magical. For flowers, I just used very simple white gypsophila (calling it angel’s breath, instead of baby’s breath!), then mixed pillar candles in raised-glass holders from our Christmas collection with traditional dinner candles at two different heights, and added pretty glass tealights at a lower level – I love creating layers of candlelight. Battery tealights are also a good option for teenage parties, if you don’t want a naked flame.”

Our beautiful glass-candle holders come in a variety of sizes and can be used in the same way. They are great for both indoors and outdoors.
2. Hosting a Women Supporting Women dinner
“I’m proud to say I’m a founding patron of the Prince’s Trust’s Women Supporting Women programme. Our goal is quite simply to change lives and help vulnerable young women build a brighter future in the UK. The White Company CEO, Mary Homer, and I are busy planning how to bring this initiative to life, and hosted a dinner with a group of amazing influential women (more of whom soon!) to kick-start the planning. Women Supporting Women is something you’ll be hearing more about, as we’d love to involve as many women as possible. We’ll keep you posted!”
3. Making plans for the future
“It’s really an exciting time for The White Company at the moment. Mary, our new CEO, has now been with the business for six months and, together with our team, we’ve been developing our future plans. Something front of mind is how, as a business, we can reduce the amount of packaging we use, while also delivering our products in perfect condition. It’s a topic we’re really passionate about, aware of and working hard on this year. I’ve also been getting excited about our upcoming Summer collections – I think we are all looking forward to warmer weather and the holiday season (especially while we’re in the middle of a cold snap!). Here are a few favourite sneak peeks from Summer – coming in April.”
Left: Olive Wood Collection: “Made from sustainably sourced olive wood – perfect for alfresco eating.”
Right: Vine Tomato: “For a true taste of the Mediterranean!”
Left: Linen Lace Up Long Sleeve Blouse: “Could this be the perfect Summer top?! We think so.”
Right: Cotton All Over Embroidered Robe & Nightie: “I love this beautiful duo – ideal for warmer weather.”
4. Great tips for tackling Winter skin
“It’s even more important to nurture our skin during the colder months. Heating and cold weather are very dehydrating so, it’s essential to give our skin an extra bit of TLC. Two tips I love at this time of year are to exfoliate more regularly and add extra nourishment to my daily routine.
“I love our clever dual-sided face cloths which we designed to use with our Super Balm. These fantastic cloths are kind on the skin, yet deeply effective and can be used in two ways. The soft flannel side is brilliant for daily hot-cloth cleansing, while the reverse muslin side is ideal for improving circulation and gentle exfoliation (removing any dulling surface dead-skin cells). Use the muslin side two to three times a week for skin that looks fresher, brighter and is perfectly prepared to get the most out of our amazing Super Serum and powerful Advanced Hydration moisturiser.
Another great way to introduce additional nourishment in Winter is to simply add two drops of our fabulous, award-winning Night Oil into your daily moisturiser or foundation for a lovely extra boost and Winter glow.”
5. Getting through my book pile
“Earlier in the year, I had the dreaded Australian Flu, which really highlighted the need to make this a year of eating well, living well and taking better care of myself. I absolutely love Melissa Hemsley’s new book, Eat Happy, with its lovely positive approach to feel-good food. It’s full of delicious, healthy and, most importantly, quick and easy recipes to make. Also on my bedside table is broadcaster June Sarpong’s Diversify: Six Degrees of Integration – which tackles the subject of how to empower marginalised groups in our society. June has such amazing passion and energy on this very important subject, making it a compelling read.”
